PICKING AN APPLE

Techniques and
Tips

THE RIGHT METHOD
To pick an apple successfully, it’s important to use a gentle approach. Take a firm but gentle grasp of the fruit, avoiding excessive pressure to prevent damage. A ripe apple will detach easily from the branch when it’s ready to be picked. Make sure to choose fruits that are ripe and colorful for the best tasting experience.

PROPERLY STORING APPLES

How to store
apples?

PRACTICAL TIPS FOR MAXIMUM FRESHNESS
To preserve the freshness of your apples, it is essential to handle them gently from the moment of purchase. Store them in perforated plastic bags in the vegetable drawer of your refrigerator to prevent them from drying out. If you have a large quantity, opt for a cold storage room maintained between 32 and 39°F (0 and 4°C), covering them with perforated plastic sheets to retain moisture. You can also freeze apples in quarters or slices, but avoid freezing them whole for better preservation.

Since 2013, dogs have been strictly prohibited in the orchard due to the requirements of the CanadaGAP program. This rule is essential for us to market our apples to major food chains. We love dogs, but to ensure the quality and safety of our products, we must adhere to this stringent standard.
